Welcome to Smith Safety & Supply!!

Posted by

Smith Safety & Supply has been providing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for over 21 years. We know industrial safety gear is changing and it is moving fast. Years ago, you bought from your local safety supply company and didn’t shop around much. You bought the same leather palm glove for years and didn’t try anything new. Well times are changing, and we are changing with it. The reason why we do what we do, is that we want to see every worker get home to their families safe. With that in mind, a massive advancement in materials science, new super strong fibers, and new processes have changed the game with safety products. New products that do it better, faster, and safer. As a whole, we have been doing a pretty good job getting the word out but, as an industry but we have a lot of room for improvement. People are still getting hurt by using the wrong type of safety equipment, or worse yet, ...... none at all.

Here’s some statistics ….. According to OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration)

OSHA - Occupational Safety and Health Administration - Industrial Safety Supply

4,585 workers were killed on the job in 2013.

That’s more than 12 a day. Twelve fathers, sons, brothers, sisters, mothers, daughters that won’t get to come home to their families. As we celebrate Memorial Day, we want to make sure EVERYONE comes home safe to their families. How we are going to do that is by giving you the information you need to make the right decisions. Do I need cut level gloves vs regular gloves? What’s the difference between class 2 and class 3 hi-vis gear? So do I need a lanyard or self-retracting lifeline to prevent construction falls?  We will help to answer some of your questions and more.

We have partnered with some of the leading experts from 3M, Allegro, Atlas Glove, Bayco, Bellingham, Black Stallion, Bolle, Bulwark FR, Caiman, Carhartt, Chilly Grip, DeWalt, Dupont Tyvek, Edge Eyewear, Forester, French Creek Production, Frog Wear, Gerson, Howard Leight, Jackson, Justrite, Kidde, Kinco, Majestic, Masterlock, Maxiflex, Moldex, Monk, MSA, Ninjaflex, North by Honeywell, Occunomix, Onguard, Pac-Kit, PIP, Pyramex, Radians, Rasco FR, Rubbermaid, Sellstrom, Seymour, Showa, Shurtape, Smith & Wesson, Southern Glove, Speakman, Spilltech, Sqwincher, Sunrise, Uvex, Valeo, Weldas, and many others.

So as you can see, it’s not just us. We have the leading companies in the industrial safety products and protection industry to help you provide the best protection for your workers. That’s why we developed this new website. We want it to be a resource for companies to help protect their workers and workers to help protect themselves. Where they can get the information they want and the solutions they need to make sure everyone comes home safe.

Here are some things that we will be doing over the next couple of months.

  • 1.) Listing MSDS (material safety data sheets) from all the safety manufacturers so you can know exactly what you are looking at and how it will help worker safety. You will be able to have the right information, not only for inspectors, but for yourself as well do you can get the exactly right safety product for your worker.
  • 2.) Getting the best pictures of safety gear so you know what to expect when you see a product.
  • 3.) YouTube videos from us and the manufacturer so you can get the most detail about a product you are looking at.
  • 4.) Creating a knowledge library so you can get the information you need. The better informed you are as a purchasing agent or safety manager, the better decisions you can make for you company.
  • 5.) Experts Advice and Articles on the best way to protect your workers.

So keep coming back, we have a lot of work to do and if you have any suggestions, you can always reach me personally at jsmith@gssafetyproducts.com

Thank you for your time! And be safe out there!
